Galvanized
Gutters
Hot-dipped zinc coating, steel-core strength, and the authentic appearance that traditional and historic homes demand. Proven protection for over a century.
Classic Strength
Time-Tested Reliability
Galvanized steel gutters have protected homes for over a century. With their zinc coating providing excellent corrosion resistance and their steel core offering superior structural strength, galvanized gutters remain the authentic choice for traditional architecture and any application demanding impact resistance that aluminum simply cannot match.
- Stronger than aluminum — resists denting and impact damage
- Hot-dipped zinc coating creates long-lasting corrosion barrier
- Self-healing: zinc protects scratches through electrochemical action
- Authentic heritage appearance for period and traditional homes
- Excellent performance in harsh weather and extreme temperatures
- 100% recyclable — a responsible material choice
The Science
How Galvanization Works
High-quality steel provides exceptional structural integrity — the same material used in construction. Resists denting from hail, branches, and ladder contact that would deform aluminum.
Steel is immersed in molten zinc at 860°F. The zinc bonds metallurgically to the steel surface, forming a coating that is far more durable than any paint or spray-applied finish.
The zinc layer acts as both a physical shield and a sacrificial anode — zinc corrodes preferentially, protecting the underlying steel even when the surface is scratched or cut.
Minor scratches are naturally protected as zinc continues to migrate electrochemically across the steel surface beneath — a passive self-repair that never requires any action from you.
Ideal For
Built for These Properties
Historic & Period Homes
Many local historic preservation boards and HOA guidelines require galvanized steel over modern aluminum — both for authenticity and for the material's proven track record on older architectural profiles. Our half-round galvanized systems are exact replicas of 19th-century installations.
- Accepted by historic preservation boards
- Half-round and K-style profiles available
- Matches original material specifications
Commercial & High-Impact Applications
Where gutters are exposed to mechanical impact from equipment, foot traffic on lower roofs, or heavy overhead debris, galvanized steel's superior strength and dent resistance makes it the professional-grade choice over lighter-gauge aluminum systems.
- Resists denting and deformation
- Handles mechanical contact and impact
- Industrial-grade structural integrity
